  • My Top 3 Nonnegotiable Beauty Items

I’ve tested more makeup products than I’d like to admit — some hyped, some hopeless. But a few have actually earned permanent status in my makeup bag. These three are nonnegotiable — the ones I’d immediately replace if I lost my bag, my mind, or both.

    1. L’Oreal Paris Faux Brow Pen (Blonde)

    Product image credit to Amazon

If you’ve ever overplucked in the 90s (guilty 🙋‍♀️), this pen is a small miracle. The double-brush tip gives you actual hair-like strokes — not that weird Sharpie look. It fills fast, stays put, and doesn’t leave you with crunchy brows. I use the Blonde shade, but it’s surprisingly universal if you go light-handed.

🖤 Why it made the cut:

It looks the most natural of every brow pen I’ve tried — no blocky cartoon brows here. You do have to put in a little effort, but for someone like me who’s historically challenged in the “making an eyebrow not look stupid” department, this thing has seriously upped my brow game.

    2. Revlon ColorStay Waterproof Eyeliner (Black Brown)

    Product image credit to Amazon

There’s waterproof, and then there’s this. This liner doesn’t just survive humidity, sweat, or the occasional mid-day meltdown — it refuses to budge. It goes on smooth, doesn’t tug, and the Black Brown shade gives just enough definition without that harsh “jet black” look.

🖤 Why it made the cut:

This is the only eyeliner that actually stays put. Period. It literally will not move. I’ve tried others, but I always end up coming back to this one. It’s been my go-to for years, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

    3. wet n wild Photo Focus Loose Setting Powder (Soft Pink)

    Product image credit to Amazon

This powder is criminally underrated. It blurs, sets, and gives a soft glow without that heavy, dry look a lot of powders leave behind. The pink tint adds just enough brightness to make your skin look alive — even if your sleep schedule doesn’t.

🖤 Why it made the cut:

It’s cheap, and it does its job really well. Some powders scream “hey, I’m wearing powder,” but this one gives a subtle glow without the chalky finish. You don’t see powder marks everywhere — just smooth, even skin. And the price? You can’t beat it. Honestly, it works the same (if not better) than the high-end powders people brag about.

    Final Thoughts

I’ll keep testing new products (because that’s my toxic trait), but these three have survived every makeup purge and bag switch. If you’re tired of wasting money on overhyped nonsense, start here.

💬 Tried any of these? Have a ride-or-die product I need to test next? Drop it in the comments — I’m always down to compare notes.

  • My First Labubu Unboxing (Popmart Verison 3) – And Why I’m Already Obsessed

I finally caved. After weeks of seeing those wide-eyed, pointy-toothed little creatures all over TikTok and Pinterest, I bought my very first Labubu blind box. And not just any Labubu — I went straight in with Version 3.

I’ve never owned a Pop Mart collectible before, so this was a complete first-timer experience. And honestly? I get the hype now.

    What Even Is a Labubu?

Labubu is part of The Monsters lineup created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung. The lineup came out originally as a picture book series. Pop Mart saw the potential and produced the blind box collectible versions for our entertainment and their pocketbooks.

Blind boxes means you don’t know which one you are getting until you open it – half the fun is the surprise.

Each Labubu is about 3 inches tall, with exaggerated teeth, long ears, and quirky themes.

Version 3 — My First Pull

Unboxing my very first Labubu felt like childhood trading cards mixed with adult retail therapy. The suspense of tearing open the packaging was REAL.

The Big Into Energy V3 includes 6 common Labubu’s (1 in 6 chance) which most of

    Courtesy of Amazon

us will end up getting. Of course, there is also one ultra-rare ID that is black with rainbow glittery eyes/teeth. Part of the draw, only a 1 in 72 chance to pull it.

    Courtesy of Amazon

    Mine? → I got Luck!

    Me and My First Labubu

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t prepared for how much personality these tiny figures have in person. Photos don’t do them justice. See the unboxing video here.

Why I Think Collecting Labubu Is Addictive

Even though this was my first, I can already see why people end up with shelves full of them:

    • Blind Box Thrill → The “what am I gonna get?” dopamine hit. (Dopamine hits are a big win with ADHD)
    • Display Worthy → They’re small but detailed — perfect for a desk, shelf, or cozy nook.
    • Community Vibes → There’s a whole online world of collectors swapping, trading, and showing off rare pulls.
    • Chase Figures → Each series has at least one rare hidden version that keeps collectors coming back.

Where I Bought Mine (and Where You Can Too)

If you want to try your first Labubu unboxing, you can grab them from:

    Amazon Labubu Blind Box V3

Also, of course on TikTok, the official PopMart site, and various specialty retailers. A word of caution, be aware of fakes. There are several knockoff ones out there; always make sure you buy from a reputable business. Always look for QR codes or UV stamps to avoid fakes.

My Collector Plans (aka, Send Help)

This was supposed to be “just one box.” But now I want:

    • A full set of Version 3
    • One of the rare chase figures
    • Accessories galore- there are so very many super cute, trending items you can dress your Labubu with or even put her in… think mini scooters, car seats, little beds.

I’ll be updating this post (and filming unboxings 👀) as my collection grows, so if you’re new like me, we can learn together.

    Conclusion

My very first Labubu unboxing turned me from “curious scroller” to “new collector” in one box flat. If you’ve been on the fence, trust me — it’s worth ripping one open. Just be prepared: one Labubu almost never stays one.

  • Facelift in a Jar? My Blithe Pressed Serum Review

If you’re a Gen X mom with ADHD, you know skincare routines don’t stick. We’ve got tabs open, kids asking where their shoes are, and a brain that’s already spiraling down three rabbit holes. That’s why I only stick with products that actually earn their spot.

    Enter: Blithe Pressed Serum

    — the K-beauty hybrid that’s part serum, part moisturizer, and designed to give you a visible lift in less than a week. Southern Living even featured it in their August issue, which made me curious enough to test it myself.

Why This Jar Earns Its Keep

    • Hybrid Formula → serum + moisturizer in one jar (less steps = more chance I’ll actually use it).
    • Visible Results Fast → firmer, plumper skin in 7 days or less. → firmer, plumper skin in 7 days or less.
    • Day or Night Friendly → morning glow and nighttime repair, without 12 bottles cluttering the sink.
    • Instant “Facelift Effect” → smooths fine lines + makes your jawline look like you actually sleep.

    ADHD Mom Truth

I don’t have the patience for a 10-step skincare routine. This pressed serum earns a spot because it replaces two products in one jar — serum and moisturizer. That’s one less step for my ADHD brain to forget, and one less bottle cluttering my bathroom counter. The fact that it actually made my skin look firmer in under a week? That’s the bonus that keeps me reaching for it instead of abandoning it in the regret drawer.

  • 🧽 Why The Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste Is the Ultimate Cleaning Solution

Ever feel like you’ve tried every cleaner under the sink and still end up with mystery stains staring back at you? Same. Enter The Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste — the $6 tub that TikTok swears will basically erase your bad life choices (or at least your burnt-on lasagna pan). But does it really work, or is it just another viral gimmick? Let’s break it down.

✨ What Is The Pink Stuff?

It’s literally… pink goop in a tub. But it’s magic pink goop. This paste is thick, non-drippy, and claims to tackle grease, grime, soap scum, and the crime scene that is your stovetop after taco night. People use it on stainless steel, tiles, grout, shoes, you name it. Basically, it’s the duct tape of cleaning products.

Check it out on Amazon here

    🚀 Why It Went Viral

Because nothing gets attention like a satisfying before-and-after TikTok. People love watching a nasty pan go from “should I just throw this away?” to “wow, that looks new.” One little swipe of The Pink Stuff and influencers had millions of views, which turned into millions of tubs sold. It’s cheap, it works fast, and people can’t shut up about it.

    🙌 Real User Experience

Amazon users have given this product 4.4 out of 5 stars. Anytime I am researching to add to my Cart Worthy Chaos, that is the first place I look to see if it is worthy of an add. Highlights from Amazon reviews say this:

    • effective at removing stains and making surfaces look new again
    • pleasant smell (this is huge for me- strong scents kill my head)
    • minimal effort for application

What people don’t seem to be saying, “I regret buying this.”

🧴 How to Use It (Quick Tips)

    • Scoop a little bit onto a damp cloth or sponge. (Seriously, a little. Don’t go wild)
    • Rub it on the disaster zone (sink, stove, tiles, whatever).
    • For the hardcore stains, let it sit for a few minutes.
    • Rinse and wipe.
    • Marvel at how smugly clean everything looks.

Pro tip: Hide the tub from your kids. They will 💯 smear it somewhere they shouldn’t.

    🏡 Who It’s For

    • Lazy cleaners who want results with zero extra effort
    • Renters who need to get that deposit back without crying.
    • Moms who hate scrubbing but love a fake-clean kitchen.
    • ADHD brains who need instant results before the dopamine runs out.

Basically, anyone who refuses to juggle 12 different sprays just to clean a counter.

    🛒 Where to Buy

You can grab The Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste on Amazon and have it shipped straight to your door for around $6. One tub lasts forever (unless you get weirdly addicted to scrubbing grout at 2am). Grab it here

    ✅ Final Thoughts

The Pink Stuff isn’t just another viral “must-have” that ends up in the regret drawer. It’s cheap, effective, and actually kind of fun to use. If you’re tired of fighting with grease, grime, or your ADHD-fueled cleaning procrastination, this tub of pink magic might just be your new favorite hack.Go ahead—try it once. Worst case? You’re out six bucks. Best case? You’ll be the person sending your friends those oddly satisfying before-and-after pics.

  • I Bought the Hype So You Don’t Have To: 3 Viral Beauty Products That Are Actually Worth It

My Amazon cart has more regrets than hits lately. You see a viral product on TikTok, think ‘this will solve all my problems,’ and then a week later, it’s just another expensive dud in your bathroom drawer. But every once in a while, a product lives up to the hype. I’ve thoroughly vetted these three finds, and they’re 100% worth adding to your next ‘accidental’ checkout.

The ‘Glass Skin’ Serum that Actually Made Me Glow

Peach & Lily Glass Skin Serum

    • Why It’s Viral: TikTok ‘glass skin’ trend: fine texture, minimal visible pores, and a mirror‑like luminosity, created by layering lightweight hydrating products like hyaluronic acid or glycerin
    • Why It’s Worth It: Lightweight, not sticky, works under makeup or alone for glow if you are not doing full face makeup. I have been using this for about eight months and I absolutely love it.
    • Real-Life Tip:
Toner, serum, moisturizer. Like shampoo, conditioner, coffee — order matters if you want to look alive.

I was skeptical of the ‘glass skin’ trend. It sounded like another complicated, 10-step routine for people with too much time on their hands. But this Peach & Lily Glass Skin Serum is different. It’s lightweight, not sticky, and it actually makes your skin look alive. I’ve been using it for eight months, and I absolutely love the dewy, hydrated finish it gives me—even on my laziest, no-makeup days. You can get it on Amazon here.

The Hair Tool That Dries My Hair While I Answer Emails

Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer and Styler

    • Why It’s Viral: Hair tool that dries & styles in one step.
    • Why It’s Worth It: Cuts styling time in half, less damage than flat iron
    • Real-Life Tip:
Blow-dry from almost dry. That way you get big, bouncy hair without smelling like burnt Barbie.

I stalked this thing for months, and I’m so glad I finally caved. The Revlon One-Step Volumizer truly cuts my styling time in half. Instead of juggling a brush and a separate blow dryer, I can now style my hair while I’m doing something else (like trying to find my car keys). It gives you big, bouncy hair without the burnt smell, and it’s way less damaging than a flat iron. If you want to try it out, you can find it here.

My Favorite Under-$10 Dupe (That Isn’t a Total Scam)

    Maybelline Lifter Gloss

    • Why It’s Viral: This lifter gloss is getting hype for being a comparable dupe for Fenty gloss & for hydrating like a lip balm
    • Why It’s Worth It: Users say that it plumps lips without the sting, it has gorgeous shades, and it’s under $10.
    • Real-Life Tip:
One swipe, smush together, and pray the wind’s not blowing — unless you like lip gloss highlights in your bangs.

I’m a sucker for a good dupe, and the Maybelline Lifter Gloss is getting a lot of hype for being a perfect alternative to a high-end brand. The hype is real—it plumps without the sting, and the shades are gorgeous. It’s in my cart right now because I’m definitely buying another color. For a gloss that feels like a lip balm and costs less than my coffee order, you can’t go wrong. Go grab one on Amazon before they sell out again.

Final Thoughts (I’m Still Not Sorry for All the Regrets)

So there you have it. My top three viral beauty finds that are actually worth your hard-earned money. Two of these live in my bathroom right now, and the third is sitting in my cart waiting for me to ‘accidentally’ click checkout. If TikTok keeps turning me onto finds like these, my bathroom drawer might finally have more hits than regrets. What viral product are you dying to try?

  • Part One- The Year I Became an Orphan (Even Though I’m Not)

    A Note Before We Begin

This is the first part of a three-part series on grief, shared through my own story. It includes reflections on the death of loved ones and the raw emotions that follow. Please take care while reading if this topic is sensitive for you.

The Year I Became An Orphan (Even Though I’m Not)

My self-identity has changed so much over the last two years with the decline and loss of both of my beloved parents. It has truly made me feel like an orphan—left alone in this world to navigate life. And that feels crazy because I’m not alone. I’m married. I have kids. But deep inside, a part of me feels untethered.

Growing up, my dad was my hero—hands-on, active, fit, stern, and loving. He wasn’t perfect (who is?), but to me, he was larger than life. He was career military, a marathon runner, a dad who read to me every night, took us on family vacations, and worked hard to give me a real childhood. He was patient and kind, but if I went too far—sassing him or my mom—he was strict. I grew up in the 80s, so yes, I got my butt spanked. He even kept “the belt” hanging in the hallway, though I rarely pushed him to use it.

My childhood was wonderful. My parents let me be a kid. My mom was the nicest woman you could ever meet—loved by everyone. She was my best friend, my confidant, and my biggest champion. I honestly have nothing bad to say about them. They were always in my corner, even when I was wrong.

Looking back now, I realize how much I took their health — and their presence — for granted. My parents had always been steady and strong, and I assumed they always would be. But life doesn’t give warnings. The first cracks in that illusion came slowly, quietly. And once they appeared, everything began to change.

→ Continue reading in Part Two: When Things Changed – They had always been strong. Until they weren’t. This is the chapter where I stopped being just a daughter and became the caretaker.

  • ADHD-Friendly Cleaning Hacks That Actually Work (When You’re Overwhelmed and Out of Spoons)

Let’s be honest-most “cleaning hacks” don’t work when your brain is buffering and your house feels like a boss level. As a Gen X mom with ADHD and too many tabs open (in my brain and my browser), I’ve tried every tip out there.

These are the cleaning tricks and products I actually reach for when I need to make fast progress before the motivation window closes. No shame. No unrealistic systems. Just ADHD-approved ways to make cleaning less miserable – and – sometimes even weirdly satisfying.

    🧽 Need a Quick Visual?
Here’s the ADHD Cleaning Hacks Checklist — just tap and hold (or right-click) to save!

    ADHD Cleaning Hacks Quick Visual

    1. Keep It Small, Keep It Simple

Hack: Clean in Zones, Not Rooms

“Clean the kitchen” is overwhelming. “Wipe the fridge handle” feels doable. Little things collectively together add up to a whole lot.

    ✅Quick-Win Products

    • Magic ErasersInstantly satisfying on wall scuffs, cabinets, door frames, and mystery gunk (Bonus- it cleans shoe scuffs too!)
    • Pledge Multi-Surface Spray – One bottle for counters, windows, glass, mirrors -fewer choices = more action

💡Pro Tip: Save your deep-cleaning energy for when hyperfocus randomly shows up. That’s when I bust out the big guns, like Zep Wall Cleaner – it foams up and wipes off grime like magic, but it’s a bigger task. Not for everyday.

    2. Hide Less, Finish More

    Hack: Bins Can Backfire

Some ADHD hacks will tell you to just toss stuff in a bin and deal with it later – but – for a lot of us, “later” becomes never. Before you know it, you’ve got 7 mystery bins full of who-knows-what.

    🧠Better Options:

    • Use open trays or shallow baskets so your brain can still “see” what’s inside. Here are a couple of options I found:

Best Seller 4 Pack Collapsible Baskets

    4.6 Stars 15pc Storage Trays

    • A Laundry Basket can be a dump zone only if you schedule a time to sort it later. I take my basket of socks to sort with me into the tv room most of the time. Because when I leave it sit somewhere else, it sits forever.

If you find yourself organizing instead of cleaning, that’s a trap – don’t fall in.

    3. Sensory Wins Beat Systems

Hack: Use Products That Feel Good to Use

You’re more likely to clean when it feels good. For real, if it smells nice, glides easily, or gives visual feedback, your ADHD brain is more likely to chase that dopamine.

    ✨Favorite Sensory Tools:

    • Dryer Sheets – Wipe them around toilets, baseboards, and dusty bathroom edges before cleaning to avoid sticky, wet dust gunk later. (this most notoriously happens to me cleaning the bathroom toilet)
    • Scrub Mommy Sponge – Tactile joy + actual cleaning power
    • Dawn Powerwash Spray – Foams fast, wipes clean, oddly addictive
    • Pledge Multi-Surface Spray – Yes, again. Because it just works and smells great. I have also found that buying the multi-pack on Amazon is cheaper than buying the single can at Wally World.

    4. Timers + Dopamine = Magic

Hack: Body Double with a Timer or Cleaning Video

Don’t wait for motivation- borrow some. Set a timer, put on a “clean with me” video, or race yourself for 5 minutes. Use the timer on your watch or phone or you can check out these below.

    ⏱️ Tools That Help:

Even five minutes of movement is a win. You’re not cleaning your whole house – you’re just getting unstuck.

    5. Cleaning When the Urge Hits (Not When You’re Supposed To)

    Hack: Ride the Hyperfocus Wave

Don’t wait for Saturday to clean the bathroom. If you suddenly feel the urge to wipe the sink at 9:42 PM – do it. Motivation is random, so work with what you’ve got.

Keep your favorite tools where you can grab them fast:

You’re not lazy. You’re not bad at being an adult. Your brain just works differently. Traditional routines don’t always stick – but that doesn’t mean you can’t make progress.

The trick is finding what works for you. These hacks aren’t about being perfect – they’re just about meeting your energy level, chasing small wins, and making your space more livable without burning out.

    Final Thoughts:

You don’t need a 12-step routine or a celebrity makeup artist to feel good in your skin — just a few solid products that work with your life, not against it. Whether you’re running errands, hiding in the bathroom for “me time,” or just trying to look a little more awake on Zoom, these beauty finds have your back.
